Forget the naysayers who mutter into their beers about Siem Reap in the ‘old days’, now is the time to be here, although you may curse your luck when stuck behind a jam of tour buses on the way back from the temples. Angkor is a place to be savoured, not rushed, and this is the base to plan your adventures. Still think three days at the temples is enough? Think again with Siem Reap on the doorstep.

DAY 1: Angkor Thom and the Grand Circuit (L/D)

We meet up at hotel at around 8:30am, in the morning we visit the sites of Angkor Thom, including Victory Gate, the Bayon, Baphuon, Phimean Akas, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

After lunch in town, we visit the highlights of the grand circuit, including Neak Poan, Eastern Mebon, Pre Rup and Preah Khan. We watch sunset over Angkor Wat from the summit of Phnom Bakheng then return to town for dinner and overnight at hotel.

DAY 2: Angkor Wat and the Small Circuit (L, D)

In the morning, we visit the highlights of the petit circuit, including Prasat Kravan, the royal bathing pond of Sras Srang, Banteay Kdei, Takeo and jungle-clad Ta Prohm.

After lunch in town, we’ll visit magnificent Angkor Wat to see its architecture and bas relief. Dinner with traditional dance show and overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

DAY 3: Banteay Srei and Floating Villages (L)

We make an early morning visit to Angkor Wat to watch sunrise, before continuing north to visit the elegant temple of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. After lunch in town, we travel to Phnom Krom for a cruise on the Tonle Sap Lake, visiting floating villages. We will travel back to Siem Reap in the afternoon, trip ends.
