After breakfast we will drive about 15 kilometers to the Choeng Ek Killing Fields and then to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Also known as S21, it was used by the Khmers Rouge when they came to power in 1975. The haunting pictures of the faces of the hundreds who were tortured there line the walls inside the old school. Most of the 17,000 people detained at Toul Sleng were eventually taken to the Killing Fields. We break for lunch, then visit The Royal Palace complex, the Throne Hall or Vinichhay Temple, the Chan Chaya Pavillon (where traditional dances took place). Included in the tour is the Silver Pagoda, which is an amazing place with the floor covered with 5000 silver plates, and housing the Preah Keo, or emerald Buddha, made of Baccarat crystal. In front stands a 90 kg golden Buddha studded with 9584 diamonds. Then on to the National Museum, home to a vast collection of Khmer art and sculptures.

As few as 80 dolphins remain in these waters, and while there are ongoing and comprehensive conservation projects underway, dolphin mortality still remains high.
